From when you purchase the seeds (or starts) until the day you plant them in the ground, you know your food’s story. You sang to them, you ran your hands along them to create movement so they would be stronger, you up potted them when they grew out of their container and the next container until finally when the temperatures outside were warm enough consistently, they could be planted in the ground. These are your babies. The hovering does not stop just because they are planted. Now they must be weeded, watered, pruned. Finally about two to three months in – you have fruit; peppers, cherry tomatoes, onions, cilantro. Gardening brings such joy to my heart, it’s a 365-day subject for me, mostly through pictures.
